Company Ltd. is based in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates
and is one of the leading manufacturers of a wide range
of plastic products which include electrical installation
products such as electrical fittings, electrical accessories,
cable covers etc; plastic compounds such as PVC; thermoformed
products such as cups and containers; flexible packaging
materials and home improvements products.
The
company was established in 1981 to manufacture PVC compounds
for the Middle East market. It is managed by Harwal Ltd.
of Cyprus, which is also a major shareholder and is affiliated
with other industries in the UAE, Europe, and the USA.
These international connections have allowed Interplast
to gain access to the latest in PVC technology and expertise
worldwide. Interplast’s technological capability
assisted it in rapidly becoming the leading manufacturer
of PVC compounds marketed under the trade name of IP-HARWAL.
With it's highly trained and experienced staff, the company has designed numerous PVC formulations to meet a wide range of customer requirements. Research and development is given great importance by the company and is directed both to the creation of new formulation and to improve existing ones. This continuous process is aided by the company’s extensive laboratory facilities.
In 1984 Interplast diversified into the extrusion of rigid PVC profiles and conduit pipes for electrical applications. This downstream operation was strengthened in 1987 with the introduction of injection moulding for PVC conduit fittings.
Over the years Interplast has gained the confidence and loyalty of its customers. The philosophy that quality, consistency and prompt service are the ingredients to success, has allowed the company to win over new clients both within the Middle East and beyond. Having successfully captured a large share of the Middle East market, Interplast has widened its customer base to companies in Africa, Southeast Asia and Europe.
To satisfy the ever increasing demand of its products, Interplast expanded into new and spacious factory premises in October 1988. Thereafter, new production capacity was added, raising the compounding capacity to over 65,000 metric tons per year. This capacity, as well as the state-of-the-art machinery, places Interplast in a position to provide unmatched service to its customers in terms of both fast delivery and product quality.

ISO 9001 Certification was achieved in December 1997, and reflects the strict adherence to quality control procedures and quality management techniques from the first day of production. This certificate was given by ASTA and also covers the in-house design and development department, which is continuously designing new products for the extension of this EDISON range.
Compliance
with International Standards of quality has always been
a prerequisite in the design and development of all EDISON
accessories.
In-house type testing capability has been established with a fully equipped laboratory, capable of carrying out all the tests specified in the relevant standards. This laboratory has been invaluable, both for quality control and for product development, reducing substantially the time to develop new products.
CE marking requirements are met by all EDISON products which fall within the scope of the relevant EU directives. For these CE marked products, a technical file is available for inspection according to the CE marking requirements, confirming that these products comply with European safety regulations under the EMC and LV directives.
A 15 year guarantee is provided by Interplast on all EDISON accessories (except those containing electronics) proving the company’s commitment to quality and confidence in its products.
